The Grip method applied directly to your everyday life – looked at together.
The book and the online course teach you to build a daily life that runs itself. Sometimes, though, it’s faster when someone from outside looks at the system with you: spotting the friction points you no longer notice yourself, and helping direct your energy toward the right changes.
What is a Grip inspection?
In a Grip inspection (also called a Grip consultation), your everyday life is looked at as logistics – not as an emotion or a personality trait. We go through where your belongings, time, and routines actually get stuck, which things keep repeating from “zero” for no reason, and what could be arranged so daily life needs less constant remembering and self-prodding.
This isn’t therapy. It’s the same logistics-based, systems thinking that the Grip Your Life book and the Grip course teach, applied directly to your own everyday life.
Three ways to do an inspection
Grip everyday logistics inspection – €199
Inspection at home, about 2 hours
We go through your everyday friction points together: the flow of belongings, leaving the house, systems for food, laundry, and kids’ things, routines, and the spots that need constant manual steering. At the end you get 3–5 concrete changes to start building a more self-driving daily life from. Available in the Pirkanmaa region, Finland.
Travel costs are billed separately for distances over 20–30 km.
Grip extended inspection, 3 h + action plan – €499
Inspection at home, about 3 hours + written action plan
For when the situation is more complex and you want a written summary of the agreed changes too. Available in the Pirkanmaa region, Finland.
Travel costs are billed separately for distances over 20–30 km.
What an inspection is not
I don’t organize your home for you, and I don’t do interior design. The goal isn’t a perfectly organized home – it’s figuring out why your everyday life isn’t flowing.
We plan the solutions together. You carry them out yourself – or we go through them together as much as needed.
Who is this for?
An inspection is a good fit if:
- you feel like your everyday life runs entirely on your own memory and stamina
- you’ve maybe read the Grip book or taken the course, and now want to apply the method directly to your own home or situation
- you want an outside, systematic set of eyes on it – not advice on how you “should” be
- you’re not looking for interior design tips, just for things to actually work
Why Johanna?
Johanna Välimäki is a logistics engineer (B.Eng), entrepreneur, and author of Grip Your Life after Rocky Roads. She doesn’t look at your everyday life as a therapist, but as a system: where the bottlenecks are, and what can change so life works without white-knuckling the wheel.
How does this relate to the book and the course?
The Grip Your Life book lets you self-study exactly the topics that are relevant to you right now – it works as a manual you read at your own pace.
The Grip online courses teach you to build a self-driving everyday life on your own, over eight EKs (special assignments).
In a Grip inspection, the same method is applied directly to your situation: the book and the course teach you to do it yourself, while in an inspection I come along to look at the system with you.
Book a time
You can buy an inspection directly from the links above. Once you’ve purchased, I’ll be in touch to agree on a time. If you’d like to ask something first, or aren’t sure which format fits you, get in touch.
